Boom, Sparkle, Repeat

Feast your eyes on these magnificent hydrangeas by the water! They add such lush color wherever they are planted, and Lance Raab captured these beautifully!

As we slide into a holiday weekend or should I say slog into it what with the extreme heat we're experiencing, I am reminded of some of the joys of the 4th of July.

The big barbeques we used to attend as children were a highlight for me. My parents belonged to Charles River Country Club in Newton, MA. I have looked high and low for a photo of us under the yellow & white striped tent but came up short. They pulled out all the stops for the 4th with huge grills laden with burgers, dogs, barbequed chicken, and corn on the cob. when I got a bit older, we snuck away from the tent and went joy-riding on the course with a "borrowed" golf cart!
