Fun on the Autostrada

Opening our time together today with a shot of the Delaware Bay with chunks of ice! Thanks to our friends at 302 for the image.

It's a bright and extremely cold day here on the shore (12 degrees at sunrise!) and it makes me want to get in my car and drive, drive, drive. Somehow that thought morphed into some memorable road trips I have taken in the Italian countryside. You'll note I said "taken" not driven. I have been very fortunate over the years to have marvelous drivers and I salute them - most notably Cathie Sheehan, who was fierce and fun on the road. We laughed all the way from Rome to Naples on one trip. Wasn't so funny once we got into the city on a Friday night in a pouring rain, but that's another tale for another time. My former Sweetheart, Don was also a fabulous driver with a great sense of direction.
