Here's an image to dream on! This idyllic cove is on the Amalfi Coast. Photo from my friend, Carmine whom I've worked with over the years.
After a brief lull in activity, Circa Travel's email is burning up again with inquiries for International Travel, I'm happy to report! This is a reminder to make very sure your passport is ready for travel. In most cases, the rule is that it must be valid for a minimum of 6 months AFTER your return to the States.
After a long siege of major delays at the State Department during covid and for a couple of years after, the process has returned to manageable turn-around times both for new and renewing passports.
I renewed mine right after the New Year and was delighted to get it back just shy of 6 weeks. Renewing your expired or soon-to-expire U.S. passport just got a lot easier, too. The State Department reopened its online renewal portal recently, unveiling a beta program designed to speed up processing for travelers who meet certain criteria in efforts to avoid issues faced last summer. Keep in mind this isn't a full launch so officials will only take a select number of applicants each day. Travelers can still renew by mail.
