Revel In Autumn

Below is the Ligurian coast of Italy. Many folks picture this view when they dream of the Cinque Terre; a often asked-for destination by my treasured guests. It's visually breathtaking at any time of year, but especially lovely in late October when the crowds aren't so intense and extreme heat has passed on.

Even before much of Europe became a heat dome in summer months, I was begging you all to try to plan your travel for late Autumn and early Spring. Both are ideal times to visit Europe.

Autumn really changes the rhythm of Tuscany, as those of you who have been on small group tours with me have experienced firsthand.The summer crowds begin to fade, vineyards turn shades of gold and amber, and the grape harvest brings new energy to the countryside. Olive groves prepare for the season's first pressing, trattorias welcome the flavors of autumn back to their menus, and life settles into a slower, more relaxed pace.
